For couples that are trying to conceive a child, did you know that there are sexual positions that could help and promote pregnancy?

One of the best sexual positions is by putting your legs on his shoulders, this position tips your pelvis backwards which gives his sperm a helping hand from gravity to reach your egg faster.

I've heard something like this, but fortunately me and the wife never had fertility issues, and the proof is that my wife got pregnant without we even knowing about it, twice! :D Sure, if there are issues getting pregnant one has to get information on how to overcome that.

Pardon me for saying this but I don't think that is true. Based on my experience, those are just silly ideas created during a drinking spree. I even asked the specialist who just laughed at me. The prescribed position is the normal way where the female is lying face up and the male on top of her. I think they call it missionary position.

This might very well be one of those tales that just gets twisted and twisted based on everyone's experience, so I am not sure how much I would really put into particular theory. Seems that the evidence will always be up for debate.

Nothing to do with positions but with the size of the womb, whether the woman releases an egg at all, whether the fallopian tubes are blocked, whether the sperm is potent and ofcourse the timing. If the mucous is acidic it kills the sperm. One needs to look at these issues first.

I am not sure if position matters as much as the sperm count and the time of the month when a woman is in her best chance to conceive. However a sexologist is the best person that would suggest you about what helps conceive if there is any fertility issue.

I don't believe everything I hear. If a woman is fertile she will get pregnant in any position at the time of ovulation. Sperms can be persistent little devils. I got pregnant while using a contraceptive coil at the age of 36 when fertility is supposed to be decreasing!

I've also read that there were certain sex positions that promote the conception of a particular gender. I don't believe in it either. If the male's sperm count is normal and the sperm cells are healthy, they hardly need assistance when the woman is fertile. Sperm cells can survive for about 5 days in a woman's body under normal circumstances and that should give them plenty of opportunity to fuse with the egg cell. I've heard, too, that women with retroverted or tilted uterus can only get pregnant with specific positions. That isn't necessarily the case although some positions will make the sexual act painful or uncomfortable for the woman.

I have also read something like this. I am not sure about the sexual position helping with conception. What I am sure about is the position of the woman after the deed. It is scientifically proven that if a woman lies on her back with her legs raised up with pillows behind her back and bum to elevate this area, there is a greater chance of the spermatozoa swimming home to destination.

This topic got me curious so I checked online regarding this. What you've said is also the position I've read about that could help a woman conceive, and particularly advised on women or couples having difficulty conceiving. It's called the missionary position.

I agree with you that a fertile woman has a high chance of getting pregnant. Any woman wanting to get pregnant must get a preconception check up to know her chances.

LOL! You're not alone on getting pregnant at a late age. I had my youngest at 37, haha.

Experts say it's not dependent on a certain postion, and that "the best positions for getting pregnant" are just myths. Here's more about getting pregnant faster: https://www.webmd.com/baby/features/7-tips-getting-pregnant-faster#1

    Hope this helps :)
