I don't see any problem on this! ;)

Society urgently needs to stop being so hypocritical and start to worry about REAL and URGENT problems that affect them daily. Breastfeeding in public is a beautiful way of showing care and love for babies. I think it's a commendable atitude.

A lot of guys get turned by any sort of thing regarding the breasts. Therefore, it might be a good idea to keep it private, or at least around "women only". Anyway, does anyone feel some women might purposely be trying to play with men via this behavior? I think so.

I think the comments on the video are a bit nosy - cause it simply isn't anyone's business -and I don't think it's like someone farting or refusing to bathe. However, such is the nature of people.

I don't see any problem with this too. In fact, it's the basic right of a mom and if someone finds it offensive/unwanted they should get their mentality right. After all there is no greater joy than giving a birth to new life and feeding them on their demand is absolutely divine. So a mom has the first right to feed her baby and everyone should respect her at that time.

To be honest I have never seen anyone doing it in public, probably because most women are ashamed or something like that. But I don't see why that would be a problem, it's just a natural thing and that shouldn't be a big deal for us.

I was breastfeeding in public back in the 80s when it was more frowned upon but I didn't do it in coffee bars or places where there were a lot of people around. I used to do it in parks or similar places where I could find somewhere quieter. People would pass me but never batted an eyelid.

Thinking has changed now and it is far more acceptable to feed babies publicly. To be fair, once the baby is attached you can't really see much.

To me, it's a normal thing and I don't understand why women are criticized for it. It's ridiculous to think this is indecent exposure, most of them are covered and it's done to feed their child. People need to get over it and see it as what it is, a completely normal thing.

It isn't wrong since you are just doing your duty as a mother, you're feeding your child since he is hungry, ain't nothing wrong with that. But, a mother can do that in public without exposing her breast and showing everyone she is feeding her baby right? I mean, she can cover herself with a towel or something, or go in a breastfeeding station since most malls nowadays have them.

I think if the woman is all covered up then there's nothing wrong with breastfeeding in public. But for sure some people will see malice in it and perverts would pay attention hoping to "catch a glimpse" of you know what, so I think that breastfeeding should be done privately or in breastfeeding stations.

I understand what you mean, my point if we are in such a place where getting some privacy is hard and we have no other choice the mother should try to do the breastfeeding discreetly and not just too openly even though she is in the public. I still maintain some decency should be applied while doing this in public.

@msyukionna most malls in my place have proper rooms for this specific purpose. They even provide curtains and sofas to divide them in small cabins besides they provide changing tables, TV sets and other facilities required for the purpose. Incidentally if a mom still wants to feed her child in lobby of the mall sitting on a bench, that's perfectly fine.

Most women have an aversion to breast feeding in public and this is not entirely abnormal. I think its a product of mental attitude, people should they breasts as a source of done rather than in any other light. Trip mostly affects first time mothers especially those in the lower age brackets.

To be honest, men are sort of disgusting creatures. In that case, while I think women should be free to breastfeed in public, I think they should note the reality of things. Also, this whole thing brings up legal questions like, "if a man stares and then the woman sues for sexual harassment, is the man in the right or wrong?".

@Jason76 I am not sure if looking at a woman during breastfeeding comes under sexual harassment unless he is making any filthy gestures but it sure is a breach of moral code conduct wich no sincere or healthy minded people would do. It's a global discussion point but some areas suffer more from this cheap mentality and some of the areas have rare incidents.

There is nothing wrong about breastfeeding in public. It is a beautiful act of love from a mother to a child and I don't know why there is such a fuss about this. Exclusive breastfeeding is being adopted by most mothers which means the baby is always with the mum and has to be fed on demand when he needs to be fed, whenever and wherever.

The only thing I would say is, the mother should try and cover up as much as she can while breastfeeding in public. A lot of the uproar is about the exposure of the boobs even when there are children around. So if the mom is decently covered, then its OK to breastfeed in public.

Often just looking counts as sexual harassment. Of course, the looks could be staring - but maybe not. The bottom line is that it puts guys in an incredibly uncomfortable situation.

If it's covered up it won't cause any problems.

With more and more mothers opting out of breastfeeding atleast it is an encouraging sight that there are still mothers that breastfeed. I find nothing wrong. The concerned mothers can cover themselves. The sight of a contented baby is what one should be pleased to see and not one that cries for milk.

I've read so many wonderful inputs in this thread. It's great to hear from men who are open-minded about breastfeeding in public. Although as one of you said, breastfeeding in public depends on one's location. If they frown upon breastfeeding in your place, it would be best to do it in breastfeeding stations, if there are any. Otherwise, if it's accepted, just make sure the breast is properly covered.
