HOW old do you think a babysitter should be?

I would prefer to employ the services of a babysitter sitter who is ATLEAST twenty years of age. Legally, any citizen who is above eighteen years is considered an adult in my country. However, having passed through teenage, I can safely draw the line at twenty. I have seen and heard of so many cases where a teenager was given a task to take care of a toddler but somewhere along the way, a party came up and the babysitter left the kid unattended. Teenage is a very tender age because hormones are also very active.

Babysitting isn't common in my country. When you give birth your mother usually comes to stay with you for a while and look after you (or mother in law). When she leaves, a relative (usually female) is sent to stay with you. For those who do not have (or want) female relatives willing to stay with them, they look for nannies and nannies over here are usually grown, women.
